A love for the whole world

Justice, peace and the integrity of creation lie at the heart of our mission and spirituality as sisters of the Sacred Heart. Our mission, to discover and make known the love of the Heart of Jesus, compels us to live out the Gospel message ‘with all that it demands from us of love, forgiveness and justice, and of solidarity with those who are poor and rejected by the world.’ (Constitutions 4 & 7)

Organisations we support

Fenham Association of Residents (FAR)

‘FAR has been serving residents of Fenham since 1988, we operate from a purpose-built accessible community centre in the heart of Fenham in the West End of Newcastle upon Tyne. Our aim is to help people go further, providing support, direction, hope, encouragement and praise; we are here for them every step of the way.’

The Medaille Trust

‘Medaille Trust exists to provide refuge and freedom to victims of modern slavery – supporting them as they rebuild their lives. Today, we are one of the largest provider of supported safe house beds for victims of modern slavery in the UK.’

‘Traidcraft are passionate about trade, social and environmental justice. We’re the original fair trade pioneers in the UK, and advocate the importance of organic farming, sustainability, and transparency to the lives of growers and artisans around the world, and we're not stopping there.’

Roehampton University study grants for Refugee students

‘The Sacred Heart Sanctuary Scholarship is designed to support those who might otherwise be unable to access higher education funding as a result of their immigration status.

The scholarship entitles recipients to the following support for each year of undergraduate study: a full tuition fee waiver, 52 weeks of paid for on-campus accommodation per year (where required) and access to a Maintenance Grant equivalent to the maximum government Maintenance Loan for each academic year.’

Caritas Westminster

‘We aim to help individuals in the Diocese of Westminster to use their gifts and talents to create inclusive and caring communities. All our projects and partnerships fit in with our seven strategic priorities. These are: Food Poverty and Debt, Social Isolation of the most Vulnerable, Intellectual Disability, Homelessness, Human Trafficking, The Deaf Community and Youth Inclusion.’

The Jesuit Refugee Service

‘Inspired by the generous love and example of Jesus Christ, the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organisation with a mission to accompany, serve, and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons, that they may heal, learn, and determine their own future.’
